Dr. John Henry Pang, MD is a double board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon who performs gender-affirming Top Surgery. Before joining Align Surgical Associates in San Francisco, Dr. Pang completed the Gender Surgery training program at Mount Sinai. His practice is focused on providing comprehensive surgical care for transgender and non-binary patients.
Dr. Pang is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the American Board of Surgery and the World Professional Association of Transgender Health (WPATH).
Dr. Pang is skilled at multiple methods of Top Surgery:

He also offers Body Sculpting and Facial Masculinization surgeries.
Surgeries are performed at Marin Health Medical Center, California Pacific Medical Center, St. Francis Hospital Surgery Facility and Post Street Surgery Center.
Surgery Eligibility
- Mental health letter requirements per WPATH guidelines.
- 18+ years or 17 years with parental consent.
- A mammogram for Top Surgery patients who are 50+ years.
Insurance & Medicaid
Dr. Pang accepts insurance, including Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
If Dr. Pang is not in-network with your plan, Align Surgical may
be able to do a single case agreement with your insurance company.
Dr. Pang also accepts some managed Medi-Cal plans.
Booking a Consultation
Dr. Pang is available for phone, virtual and in-person
consultations. If you have insurance, the consultation fee of $50
may be covered.
Wait Times
4-6 weeks for a consultation, two months for a surgery date.
